In the living room, size is the main factor: The rug should cover enough area under the seating group so that the front legs of the sofa and armchairs rest on it. For most living rooms, this means 200 × 300 cm or more. For each rug, you will find information on pile material, pile height, and origin.

Which size fits your living room?

Sofa Table Sofa + 2 × 20–30 cm
The most common layout: the sofa's front legs stand on the rug, the coffee table sits fully on it.
  • The rug should extend 20–30 cm beyond the sofa on both sides — anything narrower makes the room look smaller.
  • The coffee table belongs entirely on the rug.
  • Walking routes should run across the rug, not along its edge.
  • Three common layouts: all legs on (large rooms, most generous look) · front legs on (the safe standard) · table only (compact rooms).
